We are 3 friends that have worked in the Tech industry for over 50 years collectively. We live in a small east Tennessee town with one red light. Not much to do, so we decided to create a podcast. This podcast will feature quick 15-30 minute podcasts that cover random or “stray” topics that have each of our own unique spin on them. We really are glad you stopped by and we hope that you enjoy our shows!
How Straytopix was born
Boredom
Its funny how things change as we age. When we were younger, we had all kinds of things to keep us busy such as raising our kids and growing our family. But as time goes by, our kids grow older and they start to develop their own lives and families. Then it seems that all we are left with is our spouses and our jobs.
This podcast came to exist because of pure boredom. We were becoming bored with our daily routines. Our days seemed like the movie Groundhog Day where we re-lived the same day over and over again. You know the routine. Get up before dawn and go to work. Work all day and by the time we get home, it's dark again. Nothing to do outside and no where to go. So, we just go in our homes and sit in our recliners and watch our TV’s (which there is 100’s of channels with nothing to watch) until we fall asleep with the remotes in our hands. Then it's off to bed, only to wake to the same routine the next day. It's no wonder boredom had set in.
So we were talking about how bored we were with our mundane routines and we came up with the idea to create a podcast and talk about random topics. We figured it would at least be something for us to do. I have to admit, in the few weeks that we started this endeavor, I have been more focused and excited because there is something for us to do besides SIT. We really hope you like our efforts. We are not doing this for any other reason but fun. We are having a blast creating the web pages and thinking up new content. At least, if nothing else, we are not bored any more….
